Write for us
The Green Doctor commissions and accepts guest features that help an Australian gardener diagnose a problem or do a job properly. If you can write 1,000 honest words on bindii timing, citrus scale, or a native hedge that survives a Perth summer, we want the pitch.
What we publish
- Original work, written for this site, in Australian English.
- Guides of 1,000 words or more with specific climates, soils and timings.
- Pieces that start with a reader question, not a brand.
- Images that are Creative Commons, public domain, or owned by you.
What we decline
- Rewritten catalogue copy, AI-spun listicles, or overseas calendars with the word “Australia” added.
- Guides that recommend a herbicide without naming the active constituent and the turf it is safe on.
- Anything that treats a guest post as a place to bury unlabelled paid links.
Link and disclosure policy
Outbound links that are paid, affiliate or part of a guest-post arrangement carry rel="sponsored". Editorial citations — departments of agriculture, water authorities, herbarium pages — do not. Read the full editorial standards before you pitch.
How to pitch
Send the form below. Include a working headline, the reader problem, the climates you can speak to, and two samples. We reply when a piece is a fit. Do not submit a finished draft until we ask. The same desk reads general contact notes.
